Taxi vs Bus vs Rental Car at Tirana Airport

Each option can make sense depending on luggage, arrival time, budget, destination and how comfortable you are navigating a new city.

Quick comparison

Option Best for Watch out for
Taxi app Door-to-door airport transfer, luggage, hotels, late arrivals Driver availability and app setup
Bus Lower budget and light luggage Schedule, stop location, walking from the stop
Rental car Multi-day trips and flexible travel outside Tirana Parking, deposit, insurance, local driving

When taxi is better

A taxi is usually better when you arrive late, travel with luggage, go directly to a hotel, or need a simple route after a long flight. Dejzo helps by keeping the ride request and route details in one official booking flow.

It can also be the better choice when your hotel is not near a bus stop, when the address is in Blloku or another busy neighborhood, or when you want to avoid negotiating at the airport curb.

When bus is better

The bus can be a good choice if you travel alone, have little luggage, arrive during normal operating hours, and want the lowest-cost option.

The trade-off is convenience. You may still need to walk, use another taxi, or navigate from the bus stop to your final address. For first-time visitors, that can be uncomfortable after a late flight.

When rental car is better

A rental car makes more sense if you plan to drive around Albania for several days, especially outside Tirana. For a single airport transfer, it is usually more complicated.

Rental cars can require deposits, insurance decisions, parking and local driving confidence. If you only need to reach a hotel on arrival day, a taxi or bus is usually simpler.

Simple recommendation

Choose taxi for comfort and direct hotel transfer, bus for the lowest cost with light luggage, and rental car only if you actually need a car for the rest of the trip. If you choose taxi, use the official Dejzo channel linked here and review the fare before confirming.
